2017-18 Touring Season Job openings

All Together Now Corporation is one of Canada’s largest producers of curriculum-related concerts and theatrical events. Working with our not-for-profit partner, Education Arts Canada, our productions reach approximately 100,000 children per year.

Positions available:

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

October 2017 to June 2018. Almost completely weekday, daytime work.

In-School Programs:

  • Main contact person with the school administration on day of show
  • Ensure we have acquired payment from each school on day of show
  • Safely driving set, equipment and cast to and from each school
  • Oversee Safe load in and set up of set and sound in school gym
  • Providing excellent sound quality for presentation
  • Safe load out of set and sound equipment (with assistance from actors)
  • Ensure all relevant safety protocols and procedures are followed

In-Theatre Concerts:

  • Main technical contact person with all venues – includes discussions via email or phone prior to day of show, maintaining professional relationship with theatre staff
  • Lighting design as needed
  • Oversee Safe load in, set up, and load out of set and equipment
  • Running sound and/or light cues – with consideration for theatre’s own staff
  • Ensure all relevant safety protocols and procedures are followed

Requirements:

• SOUND and/or LIGHT: Expertise running sound and/or lights for concerts and/or theatre productions. For sound, this means that you know all aspects of running a PA system and mixer and that you understand how to get the best sound in a musical presentation. For lights, this means that you have experience running and/or programming theatrical lighting systems.

• DRIVING: Safe driving record and the ability to drive a cube van

• Excellent promptness, interpersonal skills and work attitude

• Willingness and ability to arrive for early morning calls in Thornhill and elsewhere as needed

• PHYSICAL: Good physical strength and stamina for load-ins and set-ups

• PERSONAL: Excellent leadership and communications skills, professional attitude and ap-pearance, strong team player. All candidates must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (ie that you have a clean police record in order to work around children).

– BONUS: Knowledge and experience with theatrical or small concert lighting design, DMX, and computer programs such as QLab and Keynote

ACTOR – MALE AND FEMALE

Fall 2017 to June 2018. Almost completely weekday, daytime work.

  • Interested in performing for young audiences
  • Very strong singing and acting skills, good dance skills in live theatre, not film.
  • Stamina to perform 2-3 shows per day, 55 mins each
  • Able to assist in set load in/out and set up
  • Able to provide positive Vulnerable Sector Check (Police Check) to work around children
  • Excellent promptness, interpersonal skills and work attitude
  • Different tour lengths available. Largest tour runs early February to June 2.
