Education Arts Canada’s mission is to engage and inspire children through music, drama and interactive theatre.
Education Arts Canada is a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit theatre company producing and touring professional musical theatre for young audiences across Canada. Our shows are performed in schools, theatres, and community venues, reaching tens of thousands of children and families every year. Our productions are highly interactive, often “breaking the fourth wall” to invite children to participate in the action and experience the magic of live performance. While the heart of our work is theatre, some productions are supported by optional teacher resources and recordings that help extend the experience beyond the performance itself. Educators and families alike praise the impact of our shows, noting how they spark joy, creativity, and meaningful conversations long after the curtain falls.

- Large-scale fairytale musicals in theatres
- Tours typically engage 9-10 adult cast and crew and 60-80 youth cast

The Juno-nominated MathJam music was developed in partnership with some of Canada’s top math educators and children’s composers
The 4-part MathJam series currently tours 40-50 Ontario schools each year
Created in Ontario and now set to begin touring internationally

One Deep Breath Series

VIDEO: Jay VS The World
- One Deep Breath (formerly “My Voice”) is a series of in-school and virtual performances for kids in grades 4-6+ on important subjects such as mental health, bullying, etc.
- Titles include “The Secret Life of Riley K” which focuses on anxiety, “Jay VS the World” (emotional regulation and bullying), “Straight On Til Morning” (depression and screen regulation) and “Strange New Days” (pandemic mental health, self-care, anxiety)
- Development of this series was made possible by a generous arts grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
ScienceJam Series

ScienceJam is a series of in-school and virtual performances for kids in grades 4-6+ that bring the science curriculum to life with music, drama, and exciting science demonstrations
Current titles include “Isaac Newton’s Excellent Adventure” and “Hubbard’s Amazing Matter and Energy Machine”
JiggiJump Series

- Originally developed in partnership with Ophea (the Ontario Physical Health Education Association), this ground-breaking initiative uses the power of music and drama to get kids moving
- Over half a million Ontario children have experienced JiggiJump programs
- Recent programming:
- Daily national JiggiJump television series on CBC, offering free access to the motivational power of the JiggiJump method
- Free classes and resource materials for Early Years centres and community groups across Ontario
- Free public concert tour and home resource kits to economically-challenged areas of Ontario
- JiggiJump concert tour for Ontario schools
- 400 JiggiJump concerts in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre to link movement with body science
- Our current four year JiggiJump educational concert cycle includes:

Harmony Crew Series (In Development)
In-School | Mental Health & Arts/Music/Drama| Primary (K-3)
Harmony Crew is Education Arts Canada’s newest program in development, made possible by a generous arts Seed Grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The “Harmony Crew” program will use professional musical theatre performances to address essential lessons in mental health and social harmony for primary (K-3) students. Audiences will meet three characters from diverse backgrounds who decide to form the Harmony Crew singing group. Together with the audience, the trio learns strategies for mental health and emotional challenges (“Harmony WITHIN Us”) and for getting along and working together (“Harmony AMONG Us”).
EAC’s Juno award-winning writing and production team will work with a Mental Health Advisory Committee chaired by a leading University of Toronto Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. This team previously created the highly successful “One Deep Breath” mental health musical theatre arts program for older students, reaching 80,000+ participants.
Teachers will receive a comprehensive educational resource package with lesson plans, activities, and recordings, using the arts to support mental health and social harmony education year-round. If successful, EAC plans to expand the program into a 4-part series, allowing it to tour schools indefinitely, ensuring ongoing exposure to musical theatre performances and sustained impact on students’ mental health and social skills.

EAC Volunteers
Education Arts Canada is proud that both families and educators have embraced its productions. Over the past several years, we have developed relationships with thousands of Ontario teachers who share our vision of bringing more quality arts experiences into the lives of young children. These teachers volunteer time outside of their normal contracted duties to help plan and organize EAC shows for their students. EAC programs enjoy an unprecedented approval rating of 98% and higher among our teacher volunteer partners.
In a typical year, 50,000 – 100,000 Canadian school children will attend EAC performances in partnership with up to 500 schools, day care centres, and community groups across the country.
Our Founders, Board, and Content Partners
EAC was founded in 2010 by Judy & David Gershon, Juno award-winning children’s composers, performers and educators. Judy & David are the principal composers of all EAC productions to date. EAC’s Board of Directors includes representatives from both the performance and educational sectors. Recent content partners have included The Ontario Science Centre for ScienceJam and our Mental Health Advisory Committee, including major names in children’s mental health, who have advised on our mental health programming.
